evamuktvā gatā sā tu gatāyāṃ so 'pi taṃ tyajat
mātāpitṛbhyāṃ tyaktaṃ tu dṛṣṭvā taṃ marutaḥ śiśum
jagṛhustaṃ bharadvājaṃ marutaḥ kṛpayā sthitāḥ //

Afterwards, she went away, and the child was also given up by Bṛihaspati. Seeing the child thus forsaken by both his father and mother, the Maruts, through pity, carried that child, Bharadvâja, to Bharata.—26.
