etebhyaḥ putrapautrāṇāṃ koṭayaḥ saptasaptatiḥ
mahābalā mahākāyā nānārūpā mahaujasaḥ //
Ulûka, Śakuni, Bhûta-saṁtâpana, and Mahânâbha were the sons of Hiraṇyâkṣa. The four sons of Hiraṇyâkṣa begot an invincible band of demons, numbering 77 crores, who had mighty limbs, various kinds of faces, and were most hardy.—14-15.
