65.1

*īśvara uvāca
athānyāmapi vakṣyāmi tṛtīyāṃ sarvakāmadām
yasyāṃ dattaṃ hutaṃ japtaṃ sarvaṃ bhavati cākṣayam //

Śiva said:—I shall now explain to you about the Akṣayatritîyâ (giver of all desires) vrata, on which day the performance of charity, sacrifice or Japa gives inexhaustible benefit to the devotee.—1. One who keeps a fast on the third day of bright fortnight, in the month of Vaiśâkha, derives inexhaustible fruit of all his good deeds.—2.
