vrataṃ saubhāgyaphaladam ihaloke paratra ca //
"Sages! Tell me some such *vrata* that would free me from the crushing grief of my son's destruction and make me feel happy in this world as well as in the next."—6. Note.—Vrata means fast. Any self-imposed religious observance, Restriction, Vow, Precept, Penance.
