bhagavan bhavasaṃsārasāgarottārakāraka
kiṃcidvrataṃ samācakṣva svargārogyasukhapradam //

Brahmâ said:—Lord Śiva! you are the One, who sees all beings safely through the ocean of the world, pray therefore describe some such ordinance, as may lead people to cross the sea of the world in safety, and attain health, heaven and happiness.—1.
