*īśvara uvāca
viśokasaptamīṃ tadvad vakṣyāmi munipuṃgava
yāmupoṣya naraḥ śokaṃ na kadācidihāśnute //

Śiva said:—O sage! I shall now tell you about the Viśoka Saptamî (the Sorrow-Destroying fast) the observance of which fast frees the devotee from all grief.—1.
