*īśvara uvāca
anyāmapi pravakṣyāmi nāmnā tu phalasaptamīm
yāmupoṣya naraḥ pāpād vimuktaḥ svargabhāgbhavet //

Śiva said :—“I shall now describe to you the Phala Saptamî, (fruit-gift fast) the observance of which liberates the devotee from sins and leads him to heaven.—1.
