ahorātre gate paścād aṣṭamyāṃ bhojayeddvijān
yathāśaktyatha bhuñjīta māṃsatailavivarjitam //
On the following day i.e., on the aṣṭamî the Brâhmaṇas should be fed according to the means of the devotee, but he himself should not take flesh and oil.—6.
