praṇavaḥ sarvamantrāṇāṃ nārīṇāṃ pārvatī yathā
tathā rasānāṃ pravaraḥ sadaivekṣuraso mataḥ //
‘As Viṣṇu is supreme among the Devas, the Sâmaveda among the Vedas, Lord Mahâdeva among the yogîs, the sacred *Om* among the mantras, the Goddess Pârvatî among the ladies; similarly, the sugarcane juice is superior to all.’—5-6.
