etadarthaṃ mayā devi tīrthāni vividhāni ca ..
liṃgāni caiva suśroṇi gopitāni prayatnataḥ ..
na siddhidāni deveśi kalau kalmaṣakāriṇām .. 123 ..

For this reason, O goddess, the various sacred fords / and the liṅgas, O shapely-hipped woman, were kept concealed with effort; / they do not grant perfection, O queen of gods, to evildoers in the Kali age.
