atha yamadvitīyāvidhānamāha-yadīti .
yamadvitīyākhyāyāḥ prayojanaṃ vaktumanyāsāmapyāha pādme-
'skaṃdaitāstithayo nūnaṃ dvitīyādyāśca viśrutāḥ ..

Commentary:
Now he states the rule for Yamadvitīyā: 'yadīti'.
To explain the purpose of the name 'Yamadvitīyā', it is said also of the others in the Padma [Purāṇa]:
'O Skanda, these lunar days, beginning with the second, are indeed renowned.
