21 vṛndāyāḥ pātivratyabhaṅgena jalaṃdharasya hananaṃ bhaviṣyatīti vicārya viṣṇunā vṛndāyai māyāpradarśanama, tato mithastayorviṣṇuvṛndayo śāpavṛttāntavarṇanam, vṛndayā dehavisarjane kṛte sati taddehabhasmani viṣṇorluṇṭhanam... ... 173 1

21. Considering that Jalandhara will be slain by the breach of Vṛndā's fidelity to her husband, Viṣṇu displays an illusion to Vṛndā; then, the account of the mutual curses between Viṣṇu and Vṛndā; upon Vṛndā's casting off her body, Viṣṇu's rolling in the ashes of her body. 173 1
