6.1.6.9

"The means of attaining darśana of that god is threefold at all times:

śraddhājñānena tapasā yogenaiva nigadyate ..
It is taught as faith, knowledge, austerity, and indeed yoga.
6.1.6.11

"Intent upon the Śaiva initiation according to proper course and precept,
6.1.6.24

grant, O Brahmā, initiation unto all of us, which gives delight to Śiva."
6.1.6.25
śrutveti vacanaṃ brahmā pratyuvāca vicāritam .. 12 ..
Hearing this speech, Brahmā, having deliberated, replied in turn,
6.1.6.26
saṃdidīkṣayiṣuḥ kṣipramamarāñchivadīkṣayā ..
wishing swiftly to initiate the immortals with the Śaiva initiation:
6.1.6.27
śivayajñārthasaṃbhārānānayadhvamalaṃ surāḥ .. 13 ..
"O gods, bring forth abundantly the provisions for the sacrifice to Śiva;
6.1.6.28
vedī prakalpyatāmatra yaṣṭavyo'ṣṭatanuḥ śivaḥ ..

6.1.6.34
anugraheṇa devāṃstānakārayata bhāvataḥ ..
through grace caused those gods to undertake it with devotion.
6.1.6.35
tato vratānāṃ pravaraṃ vrataṃ divyaṃ mahāprabhuḥ ..17..
Then the great lord [Brahmā] gave to those deities the foremost of vows,
6.1.6.36
tebhyo dadau devatābhyaḥ sa tadapyavirodhavit ..
