tataścāyatanaṃ pārtha devadevasya śūlinaḥ .
muṇḍināmeti vikhyātaṃ sarvapāpaharaṃ śubham .
kārttikyāṃ tu viśeṣeṇa gayātīrthena tatsamam .. 211.22 ..

Thence arose the auspicious abode of the trident-bearing God of gods, / renowned as Muṇḍin, which removes all sins, / especially on the full-moon day of Kārttika, equal to the sacred ford of Gayā.
