Thus ends the fortieth chapter, named 'Description of the Order of the Four Ages' in the dialogue between Mahākāla and Karandhama, in the Kaumārikākhaṇḍa of the first [section], the Māheśvarakhaṇḍa, in the glorious Skandapurāṇa consisting of eighty-one thousand verses.
