mugdhāḥ sarve'bhavandakṣā ye hi vedaṃ gatā hyanu..
tathā vedāṃtavacanaṃ sattvasthā hyūrdhvagāminaḥ.. 40.74 ..

all deluded, while those who followed the Veda were clever?
Likewise, the teaching of Vedānta says: those established in sattva go upward;
