The invocation: / 'O thousand-rayed one, giver of boons, whose form is life, homage to you!' / Thus is the bringing of presence. / Uttering 'Oṃ vaṣaṭ', beholding the pair of feet of the sun, one should pour out the vessel into the lotus on the ground; that is called pādya water for washing the feet. / Having thus given the pādya water, with hands folded in reverence, one should perform the welcome: / 'Welcome, O Lord! Come, having shown your favor to me, be seated! / Accept worship here, and grant your favor with your mind! / Remain right here so long as I perform the worship!'
