tasmāccaiva prakartavyaṃ godānaṃ gomatītaṭe ..
evaṃ kṛtvā dvijaśreṣṭhāḥ kṛtakṛtyo bhavennaraḥ .. 23 ..

Therefore, the gift of a cow should indeed be made on the bank of the Gomatī; / having done so, O best of the twice-born, a man accomplishes all his goals.
