tapasi pacasi viśvaṃ pāsi bhasmīkaroṣi prakaṭayasi mayūkhairhlādayatasyaṃśugarbhaiḥ..
sṛjasi kamalajanmā pālayasyacyutākhyaḥ kṣapayasi ca yugāṃte rudrarūpastvamekaḥ..169..

You burn, you ripen the universe, you protect, you reduce to ashes, you reveal with your rays, and you delight with the sunbeams within you; / as the lotus-born [Brahmā] you create, called Acyuta you protect, and at the end of the yuga, having the form of Rudra, you alone destroy. (169)
