dvitīyamāsasyādau tu pratipadyā prakīrtitā ..
vārāheṇoddhṛtā tasyāṃ tathā cādau dharā priye ..
tena vārāhakalpeti nāma jātaṃ dharātale .. 12 ..

at the beginning of the second month, on the first lunar day as it is proclaimed, / on that [day] the earth was raised up at first by the Boar, O beloved; / therefore the name 'Vārāhakalpa' arose upon the surface of the earth. 12.
