godānaṃ sarvatīrtheṣu suvarṇamatha niṣkrayaḥ ..
hiraṇyadānaṃ sarveṣāṃ dānānāmeva niṣkṛtiḥ .. 102 ..
At a famous [ford], a great gift; at a middling one, a middling gift; / the gift of a cow at all sacred fords; or gold as a substitute: / the gift of gold is indeed the substitute for all gifts.
