ṛṣirvyādhaṃ śaśāpātha dṛṣṭvā karma vigarhitam ..
kāmadharmamakurvāṇaṃ priyā saṃbhāṣatatparam ..
krauṃcaṃ tvamavadhīryasmāttasmātsiṃho bhaviṣyasi .. 125 ..

Seeing that despicable deed, the seer cursed the hunter: / 'Since you killed the krauñca bird when he was not engaged in the act of love, / but was wholly intent on speaking with his beloved, therefore you shall become a lion.'
