Dakṣa entered the genitals, [yet] that body did not rise up.
Indra then entered the hands, [yet] that body did not rise up.
The Sun entered the eye, [yet] that body did not rise up.
The quarters entered the ears, [yet] that body did not rise up.
Varuṇa entered the tongue, [yet] that body did not rise up.
The two Dasras entered the nose, [yet] that body did not rise up.
Fire entered the speech, [yet] that body did not rise up.
Rudra entered the mind, [yet] that body did not rise up.
Afterwards Prāṇa entered, and then the body rose up.
Then the gods, having determined that the all-pervading Prāṇa was superior to the gods
in strength, knowledge, courage, dispassion, and in vitalisation,
thereupon consecrated that great lord as the crown prince.
Because he was the cause of pre-eminent existence, they then sang a single praise:
"Therefore the universe, all that is mobile and immobile, consists of Prāṇa.
Rich in full and powerful portions, this [Prāṇa] is the lord of the worlds.
Nothing in the world is devoid of prāṇa; and devoid of prāṇa, nothing thrives.
Nothing exists here devoid of prāṇa, and nothing devoid of prāṇa exists.
Therefore Prāṇa became superior to all living beings, superior in strength, the inner self of all living beings."
