3.1.27.1
.. śrīsūta uvāca .. ..
The glorious Sūta said:
3.1.27.2
yamunāyāṃ ca gaṃgāyāṃ gayāyāṃ ca naro mudā ..
A man, having joyfully performed ritual ablution according to rule
3.1.27.3
snānaṃ vidhāya vidhivatkoṭitīrthaṃ tato vrajet .. 1 ..
in the Yamunā, the Gaṅgā, and at Gayā, should then proceed to Koṭitīrtha.
3.1.27.4
koṭitīrthaṃ mahāpuṇyaṃ sarvalokeṣu viśrutam ..
Koṭitīrtha is exceedingly meritorious, renowned throughout all the worlds,
3.1.27.5
sarvasaṃpatkaraṃ śuddhaṃ sarvapāpapraṇāśanam .. 2 ..
bestowing all prosperity, pure, and destroying all sin.
3.1.27.6
duḥsvapnanāśanaṃ hyetanmahāpātakanāśanam ..
For it destroys bad dreams and removes great sins;
3.1.27.7
mahāvighnapraśamanaṃ mahāśāṃtikaraṃ nṛṇām .. 3 ..
it pacifies great obstacles and brings great peace to men.
3.1.27.8
smṛtimātreṇa yatpuṃsāṃ sarvapāpaniṣūdanam ..
By mere remembrance of it, all human sins are destroyed.
3.1.27.9
līlayā dhanuṣaḥ koṭyā svayaṃ rāmeṇa nirmitam .. 4 ..
It was created in sport by Rāma himself with the tip of his bow.
3.1.27.10
purā dāśarathī rāmo nihatya yudhi rāvaṇam ..
In ancient times, Rāma, son of Daśaratha, having slain Rāvaṇa in battle,
3.1.27.11
brahmahatyāvimokṣāya gaṃdhamādanaparvate .. 5 ..
in order to be freed from the sin of killing a brahmin, on Mount Gandhamādana
3.1.27.12
prātiṣṭhipalliṃgamekaṃ lokānugrahakāmyayā ..
established a liṅga, desiring to bestow grace upon the worlds.
3.1.27.13
liṃgasyāsyābhiṣekāya śuddhaṃ vāri gaveṣayan .. 6 ..
Searching for pure water to bathe this liṅga,
3.1.27.14
nāviṃdata jalaṃ tatra pārśve daśarathātmajaḥ ..
the son of Daśaratha did not find water there close at hand.
3.1.27.15
liṃgābhiṣekayogyaṃ ca jalaṃ kimiti ciṃtayan .. 7 ..
Thinking, 'What water is suitable for bathing the liṅga?
3.1.27.16
navena vāriṇā liṃgaṃ snāpanīyaṃ mayeti saḥ ..
The liṅga must be bathed by me with fresh water,'
3.1.27.17
niścitya manasā tatra dhanuṣkoṭyā raghūdvahaḥ .. 8 ..
having resolved thus in his mind, the descendant of Raghu there, with the tip of his bow,
3.1.27.18
bibheda dharaṇīṃ śīghraṃ manasā jāhnavīṃ smaran ..
pierced the earth swiftly, remembering the Jāhnavī in his mind.
3.1.27.19
rāmakārmukakoṭiḥ sā tadā prāpa rasātalam .. 9 ..
That tip of Rāma's bow then reached the netherworld.
3.1.27.20
tata uddhārayāmāsa taddhanurdhanvināṃ varaḥ ..
Then that best of archers pulled up his bow.
3.1.27.21
dhanuṣyuddhriyamāṇe tu rāghaveṇa mahītalāt .. 3.1.27.10 ..
And as the bow was being drawn up from the surface of the earth by the descendant of Raghu,
3.1.27.22
kākutsthena smṛtā gaṃgā niryayau vivarāttataḥ ..
the Gaṅgā, remembered by the descendant of Kakutstha, came out from that cavity.
3.1.27.23
vāriṇā tena talliṃgamabhyaṣiṃcadraghūdvahaḥ .. 11 ..
With that water, the descendant of Raghu bathed that liṅga.
3.1.27.24
rāmakārmu kakoṭyaiva yatastannirmitaṃ purā ..
Because it was fashioned in ancient times by the very tip of Rāma's bow,
3.1.27.25
ataḥ koṭiriti khyātaṃ tattīrthaṃ bhuvanatraye .. 12 ..
therefore that sacred ford is celebrated in the three worlds as Koṭi.
3.1.27.26
yāni yānīha tīrthāni saṃti vai gaṃdhamādane ..
Whatever sacred fords there are here on Mount Gandhamādana,
3.1.27.27
prathamaṃ teṣu tīrtheṣu snātvā vigatakalmaṣaḥ .. 13 ..
a man should first bathe in those sacred fords, freed from taint,
3.1.27.28
śeṣapāpavimokṣāya snāyātkoṭau narastataḥ ..
and then bathe at Koṭi for release from remaining sins.
3.1.27.29
tīrthāṃtareṣu snānena yaḥ pāpaugho na naśyati .. 14 ..
Whatever flood of sins is not destroyed by bathing in other sacred fords,
3.1.27.30
anekajanmakoṭībhirarjito hyasthisaṃsthitaḥ ..
accumulated through many crores of births and residing in the bones,
3.1.27.31
vinaśyati sa sarvo'pi koṭisnānānna saṃśayaḥ .. 15 ..
all that is destroyed by a ritual ablution at Koṭi, without a doubt.
3.1.27.32
yadi hi prathamaṃ snāyādatra koṭau naro dvijāḥ ..
If a man should bathe first here at Koṭi, O twice-born,
3.1.27.33
tasya muktasya tīrthāni vyarthānyevāparāṇi hi .. 16 ..
for him who is liberated, the other sacred fords are indeed useless.
3.1.27.34
.. ṛṣaya ūcuḥ .. ..
The seers said:
3.1.27.35
sūta sarvārthatattvajña vyāsaśiṣya munīśvara ..
O Sūta, knower of the truth of all matters, disciple of Vyāsa, lord of sages,
3.1.27.36
asmākaṃ saṃśayaṃ kaṃcicchiṃdhi paurāṇikottama .. 17 ..
dispel a certain doubt of ours, O best of Purāṇa narrators.
3.1.27.37
koṭau snātasya martyasya yadi tīrthāṃtaraṃ vṛthā ..
If for a mortal who has bathed at Koṭi another sacred ford is useless,
3.1.27.38
kimarthaṃ dharmatīrthādi tīrtheṣu snāṃti mānavāḥ ..18..
for what purpose do men bathe in sacred fords like Dharmatīrtha?
3.1.27.39
tīrthāni tāni sarvāṇi samatikramya mānavāḥ..
Passing over all those sacred fords,
3.1.27.40
atraiva koṭau kiṃ snānaṃ na kurvaṃti hi tadvada .. 19 ..
why do men not perform their ritual ablution right here at Koṭi? Tell us that!
3.1.27.41
.. śrīsūta uvāca .. ..
The glorious Sūta said:
3.1.27.42
aho rahasyaṃ yuṣmābhiḥ pṛṣṭametanmunīśvarāḥ ..
Oh, what a secret has been asked by you, O lords of sages!
3.1.27.43
nāradāya purā śaṃbhuḥ pṛcchate yatkilābravīt .. 3.1.27.20 ..
What Śambhu formerly told Nārada when he inquired,
3.1.27.44
tadbravīmi muniśreṣṭhāḥ śṛṇudhvaṃ śraddhayā saha ..
that I shall declare, O best of sages; listen with faith.
3.1.27.45
gacchanyadṛcchayā vāpi tīrthayātrāparo'pi vā .. 21 ..
Whether traveling by chance, or engaged in a pilgrimage to sacred fords,
3.1.27.46
mārgamadhye dvijaśreṣṭhāstīrthaṃ devālayaṃ tathā ..
if a lowest of men, having seen or heard of a sacred ford or a temple of a god
3.1.27.47
dṛṣṭvā śrutvāpi vā mohānna seveta narādhamaḥ .. 22 ..
along the way, O best of the twice-born, does not visit it out of delusion,
3.1.27.48
niṣkṛtistasya nāstīti prābruvanparamarṣayaḥ ..
there is no expiation for him: so have proclaimed the supreme seers.
3.1.27.49
setuṃ gacchaṃstato'nyeṣu na snāyādyadi mānavaḥ .. 23 ..
If a man going to Setu does not bathe in the others,
3.1.27.50
tīrthātikramadoṣaiḥ sa bahiṣkāryo'tyavaddvijaiḥ ..
he must be cast out by the twice-born due to the faults of bypassing sacred fords, as one of low caste.
3.1.27.51
ataḥ snātavyamevaiṣu cakratīrthādiṣu dvijāḥ .. 24 ..
Therefore, one must indeed bathe in these, such as Cakratīrtha, O twice-born.
3.1.27.52
snātvā caiteṣu tīrtheṣu śeṣapāpavimuktaye ..
And having bathed in these sacred fords, for the purpose of release from remaining sins,
3.1.27.53
prayatairmanujairatra snātavyaṃ koṭitīrthake .. 25 ..
ritual ablution must be performed here at Koṭitīrtha by self-controlled men.
3.1.27.54
koṭau cābhi ṣavaṃ kṛtvā na tiṣṭhedgandhamādane ..
And having performed ritual ablution in the Koṭi [tīrtha], one should not remain on Gandhamādana;
3.1.27.55
nivartettatkṣaṇādeva niṣpāpo gaṃdhamādanāt .. 26 ..
freed from sin, one should return from Gandhamādana that very moment.
3.1.27.56
rāmo'pi hi purā koṭitīrthasaṃbhūtavāriṇā ..
Indeed, long ago Rāma too, with the water produced in Koṭitīrtha,
3.1.27.57
rāmanāthe'bhiṣikte tu svayaṃ snātvā ca tatra vai .. 27 ..
having bathed Rāmanātha, and having himself bathed there indeed,
3.1.27.58
brahmahatyāvimuktaḥ saṃstatkṣaṇādeva sānujaḥ ..
freed from the sin of killing a brahmin, immediately with his younger brother,
3.1.27.59
ārūḍhapuṣpako'yodhyāṃ prayayau kapibhirvṛtaḥ .. 28 ..
mounted the Puṣpaka [chariot] and went to Ayodhyā, surrounded by the monkeys.
3.1.27.60
ataḥ koṭau naraḥ snātvā pāpaśeṣavimocitaḥ ..
Therefore, having bathed in the Koṭi [tīrtha], a man, freed from the remainder of his sins,
3.1.27.61
nivartettatkṣaṇādeva rāmo dāśarathiryathā .. 29 ..
should return that very moment, just as Rāma, son of Daśaratha, did.
3.1.27.62
etaddhi tīrthapravaraṃ sarvalokeṣu viśrutam ..
For this best of tīrthas is renowned in all the worlds,
3.1.27.63
rāmanāthābhiṣekāya nirmitaṃ rāghaveṇa yat .. 3.1.27.30 ..
which was created by the descendant of Raghu for the ceremonial bath of Rāmanātha,
3.1.27.64
svayaṃ bhagavatī yatra sannidhatte ca jāhnavī ..
where the goddess Jāhnavī is herself present,
3.1.27.65
tārakabrahmaṇā yatra rāmeṇa snātamādarāt .. 31 ..
and where Rāma, the saving Brahman, bathed with reverence.
3.1.27.66
tasya vai koṭitīrthasya mahimā kena kathyatām ..
By whom can the greatness of that Koṭitīrtha indeed be told,
3.1.27.67
yatra snātvā purā kṛṣṇo lokasaṃgrahaṇecchayā .. 32 ..
where having bathed long ago, Kṛṣṇa, desiring the welfare of the world,
3.1.27.68
mātulasya tu kaṃsasya vadhadoṣādvimocitaḥ ..
was freed from the sin of killing his maternal uncle Kaṃsa?
3.1.27.69
tasya vai koṭitīrthasya mahimā kena kathyate .. 33 ..
By whom indeed is the greatness of that Koṭitīrtha told?
3.1.27.70
.. ṛṣaya ūcuḥ .. ..
The seers said:
3.1.27.71
kimarthamavadhītkaṃsaṃ mātulaṃ yadunaṃdanaḥ ..
For what reason did the joy of the Yadus kill his maternal uncle Kaṃsa,
3.1.27.72
yaddoṣaśāṃtaye sūta sasnau koṭau mahā manāḥ .. 34 ..
for the pacification of whose guilt, O Sūta, the noble-minded one bathed in the Koṭi [tīrtha]?
3.1.27.73
.. śrīsūta uvāca .. ..
Śrī Sūta said:
3.1.27.74
vasudeva iti khyātaḥ śūraputro yadoḥ kule ..
Famous as Vasudeva, son of Śūra in the family of Yadu,
3.1.27.75
āsītsa devakasutāṃ devakīmiti viśrutām .. 35 ..
there was [a man]; he married Devaka's daughter, renowned as Devakī,
3.1.27.76
udvāhya rathamārūḍhaḥ svapuraṃ prasthitaḥ purā ..
and mounting a chariot, set out long ago for his own city.
3.1.27.77
atha sūto babhūvātha kaṃso hyānakadundubheḥ .. 36 ..
Then Kaṃsa became the charioteer of Ānakadundubhi.
3.1.27.78
aśarīrā tadā vāṇī kaṃsaṃ sārathimabravīt ..
Then a bodiless voice spoke to Kaṃsa the charioteer,
3.1.27.79
bhaginīṃ ca tathā bhāmaṃ vāhayaṃtaṃ rathottame .. 37 ..
who was driving his sister and his brother-in-law in the excellent chariot:
3.1.27.80
yāmimāṃ vāhayasyatra rathena tvamariṃdama ..
"This woman whom you drive here in your chariot, O tamer of foes—
3.1.27.81
asyāstvāmaṣṭamo garbho vadhiṣyati na saṃśayaḥ .. 38 ..
her eighth child will kill you, without a doubt."
3.1.27.82
ityākarṇya vaco divyaṃ kaṃsaḥ khaṅgaṃ pragṛhya ca ..
Hearing this celestial voice, Kaṃsa seized his sword
3.1.27.83
svasāraṃ haṃtumudyogaṃ cakāra dvijapuṃgavāḥ .. 39 ..
and made an effort to kill his sister, O best of the twice-born.
3.1.27.84
tataḥ provāca taṃ kaṃsaṃ vasudevaḥ sa sāṃtvayan .. ..
Then Vasudeva spoke to Kaṃsa, consoling him:
3.1.27.85
.. vasudeva uvāca .. ..
Vasudeva said:
3.1.27.86
asyāṃ prasūtāndāsyāmi tubhyaṃ kaṃsa sutānaham .. 3.1.27.40 ..
"I will give to you, O Kaṃsa, the sons born of her.
3.1.27.87
enāṃ svasāraṃ mā hiṃsīrnāsyāste bhītirasti hi ..
Do not harm this sister of yours; for you have no fear from her."
3.1.27.88
śrutvā tadvacanaṃ kaṃso nivṛttastadvadhāttadā .. 41 ..
Hearing that statement, Kaṃsa then desisted from killing her,
3.1.27.89
devakīvasudevābhyāṃ sahitaḥ svapuraṃ yayau ..
and went to his own city together with Devakī and Vasudeva.
3.1.27.90
pādāvasaktanigaḍau devakīvasudevakau .. 42 ..
With fetters bound to their feet, both Devakī and Vasudeva
3.1.27.91
sthāpayāmāsa duṣṭātmā kaṃsaḥ kārāgṛhe tadā ..
the evil-minded Kaṃsa then placed in a prison.
3.1.27.92
tataḥ kālena mahatā vasudevāddhi devakī .. 43 ..
Then after a long time, Devakī indeed from Vasudeva
3.1.27.93
ṣaṭputrāñjanayāmāsa krameṇa munipuṃgavāḥ ..
bore six sons in succession, O best of sages.
3.1.27.94
jātāṃstānvasudevena dattānkaṃso'pi so'vadhīt .. 44 ..
As they were born and given by Vasudeva, Kaṃsa killed them.
3.1.27.95
hateṣu ṣaṭasu putreṣu devakyudarajanmasu ..
When the six sons born of Devakī's womb had been slain
3.1.27.96
kaṃsena krūramatinā niṣkṛpeṇa dvijottamāḥ .. 45 ..
by Kaṃsa of cruel mind and devoid of compassion, O best of the twice-born,
3.1.27.97
śeṣo'bhūtsaptamo garbho devakyā jaṭhare tadā ..
Śeṣa became the seventh embryo in Devakī's womb then.
3.1.27.98
māyādevī tato garbhaṃ taṃ vai viṣṇupracoditā .. 46 ..
Then Goddess Māyā, impelled by Viṣṇu,
3.1.27.99
naṃdagopagṛhasthāyāṃ rohiṇyāṃ samaveśayat ..
transferred that embryo into Rohiṇī, who was staying in the house of Nandagopa.
3.1.27.100
devakyāḥ saptamo garbhaḥ patito jaṭharāditi .. 47 ..
"Devakī's seventh embryo has fallen from her womb"—
3.1.27.101
loke prasiddhirabhavanmahatī viṣṇulīlayā ..
thus there arose a great belief in the world, by Viṣṇu's divine play.
3.1.27.102
devakījaṭhare paścādviṣṇurgarbhatvamāptavān .. 48 ..
Afterward, Viṣṇu entered the state of an embryo in Devakī's womb.
3.1.27.103
tato daśasu māseṣu gateṣu hariravyayaḥ ..
Then, when ten months had passed, Hari, the imperishable,
3.1.27.104
devakījaṭharājjajñe kṛṣṇa ityabhiviśrutaḥ .. 49 ..
renowned as Kṛṣṇa, was born from Devakī's womb,
3.1.27.105
śaṃkhacakragadākhaṅgavirājitacaturbhujaḥ ..
his four arms splendid with conch, discus, mace, and sword,
3.1.27.106
kirīṭī vanamālī ca pitroḥ śokavināśanaḥ .. 3.1.27.50 ..
diademed, wearing a forest garland, destroying the sorrow of his parents.
3.1.27.107
taṃ dṛṣṭvā harimīśānaṃ tuṣṭāvānakaduṃdubhiḥ .. 51 ..
Beholding Hari, the Lord, Ānakadundubhi praised him:
3.1.27.108
.. vasudeva uvāca .. ..
Vasudeva said:
3.1.27.109
viśvaṃ bhavā nviśvapatistvameva viśvasya yonistvayi viśvamāste ..
"You are the universe; you alone are the Lord of the universe; the womb of the universe; in you resides the universe.
3.1.27.110
mahānpradhānaśca virāṭa svarāḍ ca samrāḍasi tvaṃ bhagavansamastam .. 52 ..
You are the great, the primal matter, the cosmic form, the self-ruler, and the sovereign; you, O Blessed One, are everything!
3.1.27.111
evaṃ jagatkāraṇabhūtadhāmne nārāyaṇāyāmitavikramāya ..
Thus, to Nārāyaṇa, the abode who is the cause of the world, of boundless stride,
3.1.27.112
śrīśārṅgacakrāsigadādharāya namonamaḥ kṛtrimamānuṣāya .. 53 ..
bearing the auspicious bow Śārṅga, discus, sword, and mace, disguised as a mortal man, salutations, salutations!"
3.1.27.113
stuvantamevaṃ śauriṃ taṃ vasudevaṃ haristadā ..
To that Vasudeva, son of Śūra, who was thus praising him, Hari then [spoke]:
3.1.27.114
avocatprīṇayaṃstaṃ ca devakīṃ ca dvijottamāḥ .. 54 ..
spoke, gladdening both him and Devakī, O best of brahmins:
3.1.27.115
.. hariruvāca .. ..
Hari said:
3.1.27.116
ahaṃ kaṃsaṃ vadhiṣyāmi mā bhīrvāṃ pitarāviti ..
“I will slay Kaṃsa; do not fear, O parents!
3.1.27.117
nandagopasya gṛhiṇī yaśodā'janayatsutām ..
Yaśodā, the wife of the cowherd Nanda, gave birth to a daughter,
3.1.27.118
mama māyāṃ pūrvadine sarvalokavimohinīm .. 55 ..
my Māyā, who deludes all worlds, on the preceding day.
3.1.27.119
māṃ tasyāḥ śayane nyasya yaśodāyāḥ sutā tu tām..
Having placed me upon her bed, and taking that daughter
3.1.27.120
ādāya devakīśayyāṃ prāpayasva yadūttama .. 56 ..
of Yaśodā, bring her to Devakī’s bed, O best of Yadus.”
3.1.27.121
evamuktaḥ sa kṛṣṇena tathaiva hyakaroddvijāḥ ..
Thus addressed by Kṛṣṇa, he did just so, O brahmins.
3.1.27.122
ruroda māyā tanayā devakīśayanesthitā .. 57 ..
The daughter Māyā, lying on Devakī's bed, wept.
3.1.27.123
atha bāladhvaniṃ śrutvā kaṃsaḥ saṃkulamānasaḥ ..
Then, hearing the sound of the infant, Kaṃsa, his mind agitated,
3.1.27.124
sūtikāgṛhamāgamya tāmādāya ca dārikām..58..
came to the lying-in chamber, seized that baby girl,
3.1.27.125
śilāyāṃ pothayāmāsa nirdayo nirapatrapaḥ ..
and dashed her against a stone, pitiless and shameless.
3.1.27.126
atha taddhastamācchidya sāyudhāṣṭamahābhujā ..
Then, wrenching herself from his hands, possessing eight great arms with weapons,
3.1.27.127
mahādevyabravītkaṃsaṃ samāhūyātikopanā .. 59 ..
the great goddess, exceedingly wrathful, summoned Kaṃsa and spoke:
3.1.27.128
.. māyovāca .. ..
Māyā said:
3.1.27.129
are re kaṃsa pāpātmandurbuddhe mūḍhacetana .. 3.1.27.60 ..
“O Kaṃsa, sinful soul, evil-minded, foolish-witted!
3.1.27.130
yatra kutrāpi śatruste vartate prāṇahārakaḥ ..
Somewhere or other your enemy, the taker of your life, exists.
3.1.27.131
mārgayasvātmano mṛtyuṃ taṃ śatruṃ kaṃsa mā ciram .. 61 ..
Search out your own death, that enemy, O Kaṃsa, without delay!”
3.1.27.132
itīrayitvā sā devī divyasthānānyavāpya ca ..
Having spoken thus, that goddess, attaining divine abodes
3.1.27.133
labdhapūjā manuṣyebhyo babhūvābhīṣṭadāyinī .. 62 ..
and receiving worship from human beings, became the bestower of desired boons.
3.1.27.134
śrutvā sa devīvacanaṃ kaṃso 'pi bhṛśamākulaḥ ..
Hearing the goddess’s words, Kaṃsa too, greatly perturbed,
3.1.27.135
bālagrahānpūtanādīnsvāṃtakaṃ bādhituṃ ripum .. 63 ..
to torment his enemy, who was his own end, [tormented] infant-seizing spirits such as Pūtanā and others;
3.1.27.136
preṣayāmāsa deśeṣu śiśūnanyāṃśca bādhitum..
he sent them out into the lands to afflict other infants as well.
3.1.27.137
te ca bālagrahāḥ sarve prayayu rnaṃdagokulam .. 64 ..
And all those infant-seizing spirits went to Nanda's Gokula,
3.1.27.138
hatāśca kṛṣṇena tadā prayayuryamasādanam ..
and being slain then by Kṛṣṇa, they departed to the abode of Yama.
3.1.27.139
tataḥ katipayāhassu gateṣu dvijapuṃgavāḥ .. 65 ..
Then, after some days had passed, O best of brahmins,
3.1.27.140
rāmakṛṣṇau vyavarddhetāṃ gokule bālakau tadā ..
the two boys, Rāma and Kṛṣṇa, grew up in Gokula at that time.
3.1.27.141
anekabālakrīḍābhiścikrīḍaturariṃdamau .. 66 ..
With many childhood games the two subduers of foes played.
3.1.27.142
kaṃcitkālaṃ vatsapālau veṇunādamakurvatām ..
For some time as keepers of the calves they played on the flute;
3.1.27.143
kaṃcitkālaṃ ca gopālau guṃjātāpi cchabhūṣitau .. 67 ..
for some time as cowherds adorned with guñjā seeds and peacock feathers,
3.1.27.144
remāte bahukālaṃ tau gokule rāmakeśavau ..
the two, Rāma and Keśava, sported in Gokula for a long time.
3.1.27.145
kaṃsaḥ kadācidakrūraṃ gokule rāmakeśavau .. 68 ..
Once Kaṃsa [sent] Akrūra [for] Rāma and Keśava in Gokula;
3.1.27.146
preṣayāmāsa vipreṃdrāḥ samānayitumaṃ jasā ..
he sent him, O chiefs of brahmins, to bring them quickly.
3.1.27.147
ānayāmāsa cākrūro rāmakṛṣṇau sa gokulāt .. 69 ..
And Akrūra brought Rāma and Kṛṣṇa from Gokula
