21. Now begins the description of the māhātmya of Lakṣmītīrtha. In connection with that, the narrative of Yudhiṣṭhira is described: there, when Yudhiṣṭhira, residing in Indraprastha, questioned Śrī Kṛṣṇa concerning the dharma that brings about supreme sovereignty, Śrī Kṛṣṇa recounted to Yudhiṣṭhira, along with various ancient narratives, the māhātmya of Lakṣmītīrtha situated on Mount Gandhamādana; then, after Yudhiṣṭhira went to Lakṣmītīrtha and performed ritual ablutions according to the prescribed rules for a whole month, he returned to his own city, and by the power thereof, possessing unsurpassable wealth and sovereignty, he performed the Rājasūya sacrifice with great preparations and through the assistance of Śrī Kṛṣṇa. [Thus ends] the māhātmya of Lakṣmītīrtha. 38. 1.
