māsānāmuttamo māghaḥ snānadānādike tathā ..
tasminmāghe ca yaḥ snāti sarvapāpaiḥ pramucyate..5..
snānārthaṃ yāhi śīghraṃ tvaṃ gaṃgāyāṃ nṛpate'dhunā..
vyāsasyāgamanaṃ cādya bhaviṣyati nṛpottama .. 6 ..

Māgha is the best among the months for ritual ablution, giving gifts, and the like. / And whoever bathes in that month of Māgha is freed from all sins. / Go quickly to the Gaṅgā for ritual ablution now, O king; / and Vyāsa's arrival will take place today, O best of kings. (105–106)
