nirīkṣya yajñayogyāśca bhūmīrvai bahuśastathā .. 72 ..
having observed Harikṣetra and many grounds suitable for sacrifice,
3.2.31.150
kṛtakṛtyaṃ tadātmānaṃ mene rāmo raghūdvahaḥ ..
deemed himself to have achieved his purpose, Rāma the scion of Raghu.
3.2.31.151
dharmasthānaṃ nirīkṣyātha suvarṇākṣottare taṭe .. 73 ..

having made the host of his army cross over, he wandered through the sacred field.

fond of righteousness, was awake at that time, all alone.
3.2.31.163
aśrauṣīcca kṣaṇe tasminrāmo nārīvirodanam .. 79 ..

3.2.31.164
niśāyāṃ karuṇairvākyai rudaṃtīṃ kurarīmiva ..
in the night, crying with plaintive words like an osprey.

.. dūtā ūcuḥ .. ..
The messengers said:

“Who are you, fortunate woman? Are you a goddess, or perhaps a Dānavī?
