atha sītā parityaktā tathā bhrātā sa lakṣmaṇaḥ..
yadarthaṃ tatra saṃprāptaḥ svayameva dvijottamāḥ ..67..

“Then Sītā was abandoned, and likewise my brother Lakṣmaṇa; / [and] the reason for which he went there of his own accord, O best of brahmins.”
