jñātvā tu ceṣṭitaṃ tasya bhaye sarpasamudbhave ..
śaśāpa krodhasaṃyuktastatastaṃ sa baṭuṃ muniḥ .. 9 ..
standing there, saw his father surrounded by the serpent. / Knowing that [boy’s] act when fear arose from the snake, / that sage, filled with rage, cursed that youth: (9)
