paraṃ viprasya yā dīkṣā vratavaṃdhasamudbhavā ..
gāyatrī paramā jāpye gururvrataparo hi saḥ ..
vaiṣṇavīṃ cātha śaivīṃ ca yo'nyāṃ dīkṣāṃ samācaret .. 86 ..

Yet the initiation of a brahmin arises from the investiture with the sacred thread; / the supreme Gāyatrī is to be muttered, for he is a guru devoted to that vow. / But whoever undertakes another initiation, whether Vaiṣṇava or Śaiva, [86]
