.. ṛṣaya ucuḥ .. ..
eka eva sthitaḥ sūryo dṛśyate ca nabhastale ..
tatkathaṃ dvādaśaite ca tatra kṣetre pratiṣṭhitāḥ ..
kasminkāle tathā kṛtye kimarthaṃ sūtanandana .. 3 ..

The seers said:
Only a single sun is seen staying in the sky. / How then were these twelve consecrated in that sacred field? / At what time, in what rite, and for what purpose, O son of Sūta? (3)
