20 atha pratīhāreśvaraliṅgamāhātmyavarṇanam, tatra ramamāṇayorumāmaheśvarayordvāri sthitena pratihāreṇa nandinā'jñātena vahninā'ntaḥpure praveśakaraṇam, tena ruṣṭena śivena nandine śāpapradānam, tena śāpena naṃdinā pṛthivyāṃ mahākālavane gatvā pratihāreśvareti nāmnā śivaliṃgasthāpanam, tatprasādena naṃdinaḥ punaḥ śivalokaṃ prati gamanam, pratihāreśvaraliṃgamāhātmyavarṇanam....... 95 1

20. Now, the description of the māhātmya of the Pratīhāreśvara liṅga: there, while Umā and Maheśvara were sporting, Nandin, standing at the door as the doorkeeper, unwittingly allowed Agni to enter the inner chamber; Śiva, angered by this, pronounced a curse upon Nandin; because of that curse, Nandin went down to earth to the Mahākāla forest and installed a Śiva liṅga under the name Pratīhāreśvara; by his grace, Nandin returned to the world of Śiva; the description of the māhātmya of the Pratīhāreśvara liṅga.
