57 atha ghaṇṭeśvaraliṅgamāhātmyavarṇanam, tatra śaivagaṇena ghaṃṭena śivaṃ tyaktvā svagāyanakauśalaṃ darśayituṃ brahmaloke gamanam, nāradena tatra gataṃ taṃ dṛṣṭvā śivāya kathanam, tena ruṣṭena śivena ghaṃṭākhyagaṇāya śāpadānam, tacchāpanivṛttyai nāradādeśānmahākālavanaṃ gatvā śivaliṃgasthāpanam, ghaṃṭeśvaraliṃgamāhātmyavarṇanam ...... 136 2

57. Now, the description of the māhātmya of the Ghaṇṭeśvara liṅga: therein, the Śaiva attendant Ghaṇṭa abandoned Śiva and went to the world of Brahmā to demonstrate his singing skill; Nārada, seeing him gone there, told Śiva; angered thereby, Śiva uttered a curse upon the attendant named Ghaṇṭa; to be freed from that curse, at Nārada's instruction, he went to the Mahākāla forest and installed a Śiva-liṅga; the description of the māhātmya of the Ghaṇṭeśvara liṅga. 136 2
