vārāhamīśānavaro'pyato'sau rūpaṃ samāsthāya jagadvidhātā .
naṣṭe triloke'rṇavatoyamagne vimārgitoyaughamaye'ntarātmā .. 19.41 ..

Assuming the form of a boar, therefore, that best sovereign, the creator of the world,
when the three worlds were lost, submerged in ocean waters, the inner Self searched in the flood of waters.
