6.3.208.8

ṛṇatrayādvimucyante hyaputrāḥ putriṇastathā .
tasmāttīrthavaraṃ prāpya putreṇa niyatātmanā .
pitṛbhyastarpaṇaṃ kāryaṃ piṇḍadānaṃ viśeṣataḥ .. 208.8 ..

Those without sons as well as those with sons are indeed freed from the three debts.
Therefore, having reached that best of sacred fords, a son with self-restraint
should perform libations for the ancestors, and especially the offering of piṇḍas.
