kṛcchracāndrāyaṇādyairvā dvitīyaṃ tīrthasevayā .
yadā tīrthaṃ samuddiśya prayāti puruṣo nṛpa .
tadā devāśca pitarastaṃ vrajantyanu khecarāḥ .. 227.24 ..

Either by penances such as the kṛcchra and cāndrāyaṇa, or secondly by resorting to a sacred ford: / when a man sets out directed toward a sacred ford, O king, / then the gods and ancestors, moving in the sky, follow him.
