śrutaṃ ca tanmayā sarvaṃ dānadharmaphalaṃ śubham .
pūrvajanmārjitaṃ pāpaṃ snānadānavratādibhiḥ .. 56.125 ..

and all that auspicious fruit of the virtue of giving was heard by me. / Sin accumulated in past lives, through ritual ablutions, gifts, vows, and the like [is destroyed];
