namo'stu te mahābhāge brūhi puṇye maheśvari .
tava prasādādvijñātumetadicchāmi suvrate .
dayāṃ kṛtvā mahādevi kathayasva mamānaghe .. 8.38 ..

Praise be to you, O highly fortunate one! Speak, O holy one, O Maheśvarī! / By your grace I wish to know this, O one of good vows; / taking pity, O great goddess, tell me, O sinless one!" 8.38
