śuddhāḥ stha tapasā sarve mahāndharmaśca baḥ kṛtaḥ .
yasmādiyaṃ nadī puṇyā brahmalokādihāgatā . .19. .
iyaṃ29 sarasvatī nāma brahmalokavibhūṣaṇā .
prathamaṃ marttyalokesmin yuṣmatsiddhyarthamāgatā .

"You are all purified by austerity, and great righteousness has been performed by you, / since this sacred river has come here from Brahmaloka. / She is named Sarasvatī, the adornment of Brahmaloka; / she has descended first into this mortal world for your spiritual attainment.
