And he who gives vessels completely filled, O fair-faced ones,
shall become a vessel of pleasures and rescues his ancestors from danger.
He who constructs an abundant pond of water, O goddesses,
where indeed all creatures drink water—
having delivered his fathers, and likewise grandfathers
and great-grandfathers, in desirable worlds,
[becoming] a bird, he roams like a god, O goddesses, for six hundred tens of thousands of years.
And again in the human world, free from all diseases,
he becomes an enjoyer of pleasures and is born on par with a king—
a giver, a sacrificer, strong, radiant, and handsome.
That man who digs a pit full of water, O fair-smiling ones,
and gives it to brahmins after having properly fed them,
adorned with eight varied banners,
and decorated with a flag, a streamer, and flowers—
having delivered his ancestors, that best of men,
goes by an aerial chariot praised in song by apsarases to the realm of Varuṇa.
Whoever gives silver, gold, land, sesame seeds, or jewels
to all beings, hear the fruit of his merit:
Accompanied by all worlds, in a great aerial chariot,
having reached the world of Indra, he rejoices like a god.
And having fallen thence, righteous and prosperous with all desires,
he is born in this world in a great family, fortunate indeed.
The man who plants a tree that yields shade, flowers, and fruit
along the path, O gentle goddesses, he delivers his ancestors.
