7.12.584_61

atikṛcchreṇa tu naraḥ śarvasya39 bhavanaṃ vrajet .
kṛcchrātikṛcchreṇa tathā gāṇapatyamavāpnuyāt . .59. .
yastu sarvāṇi kṛcchrāṇi kurute narasattamaḥ40 .
sa yaṃ prārthayate kāmaṃ tameva samupāśnute .. 8.112.60 . .
yasya kasyacideteṣāṃ41 kartā syāt42 susamāhitaḥ .
sa tena śuddho43 bhavati devatvañcāpi vindati ..6 1 . .
payobhakṣastu yo nityaṃ naraḥ saṃvatsaraṃ vaset .
yāvakaṃ copayuñjāno gomūtreṇābhisaṃskṛtam . .62 . .
piṇyākaphala(?) bhakṣo44 vā akṣāralavaṇopi vā .
sośvamedhaphalaṃ prāpya brahmalokaṃ samaśnute . . 63 ..

By the atikṛcchra penance a man goes to the abode of Śarva; / likewise, by the kṛcchrātikṛcchra he would attain the status of a Gaṇapati. // 59
And whatever best of men performs all the kṛcchra penances, / whatever desire he longs for, that indeed he completely attains. // 8.112.60
Whoever might perform any one of these with a collected mind, / he becomes purified by that and attains divine status as well. // 61
A man who lives constantly for a year subsisting only on milk, / or consuming barley-porridge processed with cow's urine, // 62
or subsisting on oilcake [and] fruit, or without pungent herbs and salt, / he, having obtained the fruit of an horse sacrifice, enjoys the world of Brahmā. // 63
