tān vīkṣya79 vismitā devī śailādimidamabravīt .
sakhīśca80 sarvakāleyā idaṃ vacanakovidāḥ . .1 03 . .
devyuvāca
pramatto bhāti śailoyaṃ81 vṛkṣaistaiḥ sarvato yutaḥ .
bhayaṃ mahadidaṃ manye naitadākasmikaṃ smṛtam .. 1 04..

Seeing these, the astonished goddess spoke thus to Śailādi [Nandin] / and to her companions skilled in speech, who were present at that time. // 103
The goddess said:
“This mountain, filled on all sides with those trees, appears as if mad. / I consider this to be a great peril; this is not thought to be accidental. // 104 //”
