[…] When they were all burned, the seers, headed by Nārada, / reported that exceedingly difficult event to Sagara as it happened. / Then that king, afflicted with grief, steadying himself by his own will, / the magnanimous one, commanded his beloved grandson Aṃśumat. / Sagara said: / "Ascending this chariot, go to that excellent horse; / bring it here, O mighty-armed one, so that our time [for the sacrifice] does not pass. / You must act according to the word of that best of seers, / so that he does not direct his anger at us; in you our lineage is established." / Sanatkumāra said: / Thus addressed, that king mounted his chariot, majestic, revered by gods and siddhas, / and went with speed, possessing the prowess of the king of gods, to where the yogin who brought an end to Sagara's sons shone. / Thus ends the one hundred twenty-sixth chapter, named 'The Origin of Sagara', in the Skandapurāṇa.
