By his mere intention, a fever seized the gods; / all their garlands withered, and portents arose. / Upheaval befell the worlds, and aerial chariots plummeted; / asuras mad with strength were seen, exceedingly powerful, / challenging the sons of Diti, blazing with the splendour of fire and sun.
