7.13.3_180

eṣa devo maheṣvāsaḥ kapardī meghavāhanaḥ .
gaṅgāṃ nāśayituṃ buddhimakarodbhīmavikramaḥ . .54. .
tenaivaṃ manasā devāścintite lokanāśane .
viparyayo yathā na syāt tathā kuruta mā ciram .. 55. .

This god, the great archer, he of the matted hair, who rides the clouds, / of terrifying prowess, has resolved to destroy Gaṅgā. / Since the god has thus devised in his mind [a scheme] destructive to the world, / act without delay so that disaster may not happen!
