yena dakṣaḥ kratuḥ kālaḥ kāmaśca gamitaḥ kṣayam .
tasya tvaṃ devadevasya dehārdhaṃ hartumicchasi ..17.'
liṅgeṣu yorcyate devaḥ surāsuramahoragaiḥ .
tasya devī jagaddhātrīṃ kathaṃ tvamavamanyase ..18..

He by whom Dakṣa, the sacrifice, death, and desire were brought to destruction— / from that God of gods, you wish to seize half his body! // 17 // / The God who is worshipped in liṅgas by gods, asuras, and great serpents— / how can you disrespect his goddess, the sustainer of the world? // 18
