iti skandapurāṇe andhakayuddhopakrame triṃśaduttaraśatatamodhyāyaḥ
[…] / These heroic attendants of Skanda, the supreme soul, / given by the gods as playmates, have approached you from all sides. / The fierce, rejoiced, and mighty army of Pramathas, O Īśvara, / is capable of breaking the ranks of the Dānavas—this is my thought. / Abandoning other matters, showing supreme respect, / bring destruction without delay to the misfortune of the gods' enemies. / Shining like elephants, mountains, trees, and arched gateways, equal in splendour to the youthful sun, / these leaders of your gaṇas, O Īśvara, are prepared to conquer the enemy force. / O Lord of the moving and unmoving, then Andhaka standing in battle will meet his match. / Surrounded by hosts of hundreds of Gaṇapatis, send forth, O Lord, the bowed masters of the gaṇas. / Thus ends the one hundred and thirtieth chapter, on the preparation for the battle with Andhaka, in the Skandapurāṇa.
