kṣatriyebhyo na dātavya iti macchāsanaṃ smara .
yadi ceddāsyase mohāt kṣatriyebhyaḥ kadācana .
laghutvaṃ yāsyase teṣāṃ yuddhe cāpi jayo19 na te20 .. 1 6. .
sanatkumāra uvāca
tataḥ sa paraśuṃ datvā rathaṃ kāmagameva ca .
manasā cintite21 yuktamupatiṣṭhanta22makṣayam . . 17. .
yantṛṇā23 yakṣarājena amareṇābhisaṃbhṛtam24 .
jagāmādarśanaṃ tasya sahasaiva25 pinākadhṛk ..18..

must not be given to kṣatriyas—remember this command of mine!
If, however, out of delusion you should ever give it to kṣatriyas,
you will become light in their eyes, and you will have no victory in battle.” / 16
Sanatkumāra said:
Then, having given the axe and a chariot that moved at will, / which was equipped and ready as soon as conceived by the mind, imperishable, / 17
provided with an immortal king of the yakṣas as charioteer,
the wielder of the Pināka suddenly vanished from his sight. / 18
