teṣāṃ tadabhavad yuddha tumulaṃ lomaharṣaṇam .
varṣāṇāntu33 śatānyaṣṭau sahasrāṇi ca ṣoḍaśa . . 28. .
divyāni na ca saṃgrāme34 ekapakṣe35 jayobhavat .
atha devāstadā36 yuddhe saiṃhikeyairdurāsadaiḥ . .29..

Between them took place that tumultuous battle, hair-raising, / for eight hundred and sixteen thousand / divine years; and victory in that conflict did not fall to either side. / Then the gods in that battle, by the unassailable Saiṃhikeyas,
