aśvamedhaṃ tadā yaṣṭvā devamārādhayat sthitaḥ .
tasyātha varṣaiḥ ṣaḍbhistu sahasreṇa ca tanyataḥ .
māsaiḥ ṣaḍbhiśca deveśastutoṣa vṛṣabhadhvajaḥ . . 14. .
somaḥ sanandiḥ sagaṇa idaṃ provāca taṃ punaḥ .
hṛṣyamāṇaḥ sutuṣṭātmā16 brūhi kiṃ pradadāni te . . 1 5. .

having then performed the horse sacrifice, remained worshiping the god. / Then, as he performed it for six thousand years / and six months, the Lord of Gods, whose emblem is the bull, was pleased. // 14
Śiva, with Nandi and with his attendants, rejoiced and, extremely pleased in spirit, / spoke to him again: "Speak, what shall I give you?" // 15
